Twitter launched their first ad service today called Promoted Tweets.  Twitter is starting with a few ad partners; Best Buy, Bravo, Red Bull, Sony Pictures, Starbucks, and Virgin America. We knew it was bound to happen soon.  Google has been in talks with Twitter to bring live “real-time” search results to Google.com’s default search. According to Mashable, Google’s Matt Cutts hinted this past week that Google is considering using a site’s speed as part of the algorithm that ranks the order of pages in its search results. Fast sites might rank higher, while slower-loading sites might suffer.
